About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world with my love!
I am a young Australian who fell in love with travelling when I was 15 and I jumped on a plane to live in Finland for 12 months in a tiny little farming town. As they say the rest is history, my history! Living with the Finns and exploring Europe and Finland has shaped who I am today, it shaped my university choices by igniting a passion for social reform and civil rights, which are paramount in Finland and northern Europe. I can be a little introverted sometimes because I am hearing impaired and often struggle in loud situations like parties or dark environments like night clubs. But I still have the typical laid back aussie attitude and I love having a chat!
I LOVE dogs, big dogs, little dogs old dogs, young dogs. If you have a dog, you may want to make sure you have the dog in sight when we leave because I won't be able to resist snuggling them off for unlimited cuddles! I will miss my dogs so much while i'm on the road so I need some surrogate pups to love! Unfortunately I am allergic to cats though! I am also asthmatic so can only stay in smoke free places! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My fiance and I are taking our first big trip together and although we love each other very much, we want to meet adventurous worldly people like us who enjoy a cuppa in the daytime or a nice cold beer at night with a bit of music and fun!
I was an exchange student in high school and therefore I am no stranger to the open hospitality of these wonderful travelers and wish to share experiences with many exciting people and hopefully make a few friends who can crash my couch one day!
Interests
I love to read and I enjoy adding to my movie knowledge, both classics and contemporary. I also follow a lot of television shows and I find great joy in good quality tele. I love to geocache and hope to be able to successfully integrate some serious geocaching into my travels!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I got all my genes from my dad, mostly crappy ones but also a great taste in music! Mostly 80's rock, Queen, INXS and U2 are a few of my favorites.
Movies: TOO MANY! I watch around 150 movies a year, ranging from golden oldies to cult classics to the newer blockbusters. I love a good black comedy and well done sci-fi films.
Books: I really need to read more! I love fantasy novels, and Young Adult Fiction. I also love discovering new Australian Authors.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw the Northern Lights in September in the middle of Finland at 3am at night! It was amazing! Pretty much everything I did in Finland comes under amazing for me, It was a whole year of throwing away all my ideas of a comfort zone and just doing whatever came! I had so many wonderful experiences and made so many lifelong friends! Doesn't hurt that I picked up my other half there too, guaranteed return trips! whoo!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a lot of knowledge in the area of international human rights and also Australian Aboriginal peoples history. Both of these topics I think are very enriching to everybody and also quite related. If you are into philosophy or History we are going to have a good time! On the other hand if you dig physics and maths, I might take a nap and my other half is going to talk your ear off!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a mean baker. If I have a free morning or afternoon and its okay with you, I can totally make some tasty treat to share! Leftovers will keep your tummy happy for a few days after we leave too! I also cook a bit and I am happy to make communal meals, I come from a big family and making for groups comes much easier to me! However, again; leftovers are our friends ;)
I am also very tidy and organised, you should see my backpack and the one bazillion excel spreadsheets I have to organize my daily life. I keep things clean and respect the spaces i'm using!
My love is a total morning person and hates staying up late, i'm the opposite but I don't like loud environments so we tend to come home at a reasonable time, and if we do stay up, its doing quiet work like reading or browsing the net. So we are a good choice if you are a busy worker who needs their beauty sleep!
