About Me
CURRENT MISSION
drink lots of good coffee/beer/wine, eat lots of good food and enjoy good company
ABOUT ME
Currently I am a student in Melbourne, Australia. I love living here and know the city very well, I would almost say intimately. For me this city does not discriminate which makes me love it all the more. Unfortunately, my love for this city, my family and friends is not enough to feed my travel bug so I am heading to Finland to study for a semester and plan on hitting up and many countries as I can along the way.
PHILOSOPHY
This is a work in progress but it definately involves not eating meat and smiling as much as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have not as yet immersed myself in the couchsurfing world I can't wait to get started. I have been a little slow to act on this as I love helping out tourist in Melbourne and am hoping to meet many like minded, helpful people through participating.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had many a friend sleep on my couch and vice-versa. I would have to say my favourite experience of these is the pre-festival couch crash. Where everyone who is car pooling together tries to stay under the one roof the night before the festival begins. In this situation not much sleep eventuates, and by the time your friends are waking you up to get you in the car and on the way to the festival it seems like you haven't slept at all. I have not had much international Couch surfing experience yet but am hoping to change that on my way around Europe and America and then to return the favour when I get back home.
Interests
reading, eating, drinking, napping, cuddles, napping whilst being cuddled, days of errands that start with coffee, involve walking my dog, take me all over Melbourne and ends in any form of socialising, justified sleep-ins, music, dancing to music, dancing to no music, dancing to the horrible (but undeniably catchy) music at supermarkets/train stations/shopping centres and in elevators, understanding looks that make me laugh, movies, shit tv shows, GREAT tv shows, not needing to watch tv, cooking for friends, doing the dishes with a glass of wine and a mate to chat to, backing a cake before breakfast and eating the raw batter, sunny days in parks, beer, ultimate Frisbee, people watching, ebay shopping and gigs/concerts/festivals plus much much more…

Music, Movies, and Books
Breakfast club, ShopGirl, The Life Aquotic, Pretty much anything with Jason Shwartzmann or Bill Murry I like, Monster Inc., Empire Records.
Cat Power, Feist, Broken Social Scene, Jonsi, LCD Soundsystem, Jimi Hendrix, Hot Chip, Animal Collective, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros, Sigur Ros, Ottis Redding, Sam and Dave, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone...just to name a few plenty of Aussie bands to like Angus and Julia Stone, Kid Sam, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Pual Kelly, Tame Impala and Little Red.
At the moment I am reading 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and quite liking it, but it is early stages yet. I have read and devoured all 7 Happy Potter's. However, upon reading them again they aren't as good as the first time around. The only book that comes to mind as a favourite is 'Catcher in the Rye' by J. D. Salinger which has started several heated debates amongst some of my friends and I.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Mushroom picking in Scandinavia! lots of lots of fun and soooo delicious!
Teach, Learn, Share
I really enjoy baking and sharing the cakes or sweets i make with my uni friends. I also usually have a piece of fruit on me that I tend to share with whoever is around me when I decide to start eating it.
I do know some very delicious Vegetarian meals I can teach people. My mum is a great cook and baker and I am lucky to have inherited about a quarter of her talent.
I really love learning other peoples way of life and how their own beliefs and morals influence them. Also it would be cool to learn a different language or different foods that I would never have tried or even heard of in Australia.
