About Me

Comfort over style is the name of my game when travelling. "Fancy" and "gourmet" (the way this expression is used recently) are not my preferences, though I can adjust easily to new places and activities. I don't need much, really. I love learning new things, from new expressions in a foriegner language to a local recipe.

I believe in the motto ‘Live and let live’, for that reason, I'm a vegetarian, buuut I don't judge people for what they eat, really. I'm a foodie. I like visiting bars, sight seeing, exploring the city and talking to locals. I tend to wake up early (not thaaaat early) and I also enjoy night life. I'm social and I drink socially.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, the research and anticipation is half the fun of the trip, but always leave room to "wing it". The "surprise effect" is amazing. That's what I love about couch surfing: I can count on locals to show me around their favorite spots, grab a coffee with and give me some tips. That said, finding a couch is not the main reason I'm here. The main reason is meeting people. :)

So far I've hosted a Dutch girl here in Brazil - she stayed with me for 2 weeks - and an Argentinean girl while I lived in Boston, and she's now my friend FOR LIFE. Besides that, I've met people for coffee or beer and some chit chat.

Interests

I'd rather go somewhere where local people would go than just doing the tourist's scene - but visiting those doesn't hurt me neither. I love people watching and grabbing some drinks in dive places or clubs/pubs. I like karaoking and it's amazing how karaoke bars look like in different cities. And I love meeting new people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing... I see everyday that the family I've made (the people i chose to be my family while I lived in the USA) still grows together and stronger, eventhough we look and think so differently. We're miles and miles away, and still stay connected and find ways to visit each in different countries, whenever money and time allows us.

Teach, Learn, Share

Love learning new expressions and traditions. Generally, I would try anything at least once before I say "I don't like it".

I can teach Portuguese, I can share pieces of my culture.
