About Me

I am a recent college graduate moving to Denver, CO to start a career in nonprofits. I like to go outside or stay in and play tabletop games. I defiantly love to sit and watch movies, but after a while I want to go out and move my body. I enjoy playing music, and have been studying music since I was about 6 years old. I mostly just love to laugh and learn.

PHILOSOPHY

I do my best to be a kind and considerate person who does more good than harm to this planet and all its' living creatures. I aim to become a person whose goals and intentions are in consideration of others more than for myself. I am very concerned with the treatment of women and lgbt+ folks in society as well as our relationship with the environment and our bodies. I do my best to improve myself to be more conscious about these issues and implement better habits into my daily life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In London I went to a few group events which have been a huge amount of fun. I also surfed in Amsterdam for the first time, and it was an incredible experience. I think this is a much better way to travel because instead of the isolation of a hotel room, you can connect with people from around the world and learn about new cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good! The people I have met have been fun and nice.

Interests

I play music, tabletop games, and like to dance and watch movies. Recently I started reading again. I like to sit around and talk with my friends or go outside for adventuring. I love to look at nature. I also love to eat good food, especially Indian food.

Music, Movies, and Books

TV: "How I Met Your Mother", "Friends", "Gilmore Girls"
Music: I like a lot of types of music, as I used to be a music performance major. "Classical" music is wonderful, but I also enjoy simple pop music and show tunes. Recently I'm really into Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J.
Books: I like listening to audio-books. Right now I am listening to Gandhi's autobiography. Other books I love include "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", "The Prophet", and "Tiny, Beautiful Things".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Rome and the Colosseum was breathtaking. Even more so was the Roman Forum. I want to return to these places someday to spend more time there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Marimba - a musical instrument (that I play). It is set up similarly to a xylophone. It is made out of wood, and is VERY large, ranging up to about 7-8 feet in length. It is low and warm sounding at one end, and almost as bright as a xylophone at the other. You play it with two or four mallets. It is used in band music, occasionally in orchestral music, chamber music and as a solo instrument. It is a very important percussion instrument, as it is one of the most easily expressive instruments at our disposal.

Countries I’ve Visited
