CURRENT MISSION

I am volunteering in Tonga until July 2011. Afterwards I plan to travel through the Pacific, to Nepal in September for a couple of months and not 100% sure where to next!

ABOUT ME

I am calling 29 my year of recklessness! After working for 7 years straight (after 4 years of university and 6 years of high school!) I decided to quit my job, volunteer in Tonga for a year and travel afterwards for as long as I can afford to! I figured couch surfing may help to prolong my traveling time before I eventually go back to the "real world".

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what you make it. I am an enthusiastic and positive person and I revel in new experiences, opportunities and exploring new places. I'll try almost anything once!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am living in a full house of 4 people in Tonga. However I am very keen to begin couch surfing myself once my assignment finishes in late July! I am planning to travel to Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand, Nepal and onwards... the world is my oyster!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couch surfing but some of my friends in Tonga have hosted surfers. I think it's a fantastic initiative! I love to travel and once I have a permanent address again I am very open to hosting surfers myself!

Traveling (of course!!). I love to explore the roads less traveled, I love active holidays full of adventures, new experiences and new cultures. I love trekking, hiking and being in the water. I recently got my diving certificate so I'm keen to get underwater more often. As a nutritionist I LOVE food, I love cooking and I love trying new cuisines.

I am a film-nut especially art-house films. My favourite directors are Wes Anderson and Michel Gondry and I absolutely adore Bill Murray. I generally prefer independent/alternative music but I've also come to enjoy some cheesy pop (like Rhianna, Usher and Flo Rida!) whilst living in Tonga!! My favourite artists include - Built to Spill, Death Cab for Cutie, Band of Horses, Pheonix, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, the Flaming Lips and LCD Soundsystem (to name a few!)

I aim to trek all the worlds great treks which is why I'm heading to Mt Everest in September 2011!

Seeing Machu Picchu (and climbing the nearby mountain) after 4 days of walking was amazing, swimming with whales in Tonga, seeing the Taj Mahal, paragliding in Bolivia, bungee jumping in Ecuador, seeing orangutans in Borneo... I desperately want to add to this list of experiences!!
