Overview
About Me
I'm Julian, an open-minded, humorous and outgoing guy, who loves to travel and to meet people from all over the world. For me there is nothing more interesting, than to talk and learn from people from different countries and cultures. My hobbies are snowboarding, skateboarding and live music.
I'm a highschool teacher in Germany, where I teach English, Geography and Philosophy. For the last year, however, I am living in Kelowna, BC - where I teach German at the University of British Columbia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me couchsurfing is more then an opportunity to sleep on someones couch. It's a chance to meet great people who think alike. It allows an exchange of ideas, stories and skills. In my opinion, sharing a place and spending time together (if possible), is the best way to get to know a country and it's people, and to get an idea of the local point of view.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is one of my biggest passions. Depending on my mood, I like a lot of different genres, ranging from indie, garage and surf rock to hip hop, reggae and techno. I love going to concerts and seeing shows of bands I don't know yet.
There are just too many fantastic bands and awesome genres. Same with movies and directors, as well as books and authors. Music, movies and books are my most favorite conversation topics and I love to discover new things as well as to share my favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in New Delhi, India for six month - where I worked as a volunteer for the UNESCO. This was the most exciting time in my life, which sparked the wanderlust inside of me. After that experience, I decided to move to Canada to work here as a German teacher.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach and I love to learn. Especially when it comes to languages. Besides that, I have some knowledge about the Italian cuisine as well as a big music collection, which I like to share. I'm always willing to try out new things and to learn new skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you decide to host me, I will try my best to give something back. Whether it's helping you with your everyday household chores, cleaning up, cooking, doing the dishes, walking the dog, or even teaching some German.
