About Me

Hey you,

I am Julian (23) from Bavaria, Germany. I am a rockstar traveling around the world with my band, enjoying my life with sex, drugs and rock'n'roll. Yeah...that would be nice...but now the trouth: since my early childhood my life consits of studying, studying and studying. After graduating from high school I started my bachelor study and right after finishing this I jumped into my master's degree. I really liked the process of learning new things and having fun with fellow students, but somehow I realized: that cannot be eveything. So with the master's degree under my belt I decided to take a break and start a journey on my own through the beautiful north of Europe before plunging into working life. Well...here I am. And I love it! Exploring the nature and the cities, having fun with great people and getting to know different cultures and ways of life. Traveling alone is a great opportunity for me to learn about my strengths and weaknesses and rethink some former perceptions.

I describe myself as an easy going and adventurous young guy who likes to collect new experiences with different people, exploring the world and getting stronger and more open minded every day. I like to acquire knowledge about fascinating topics and working on different projects. But just as much I appreciate relaxing by hearing music, reading books or watching series.

What else...hm...Oh, I really like cooking (preferably in community). I do not consider myself a brilliant cook but let's say it's enough to get a compliment sometimes. I use to eat vegetarian. But in order to try out traditional dishes, I like to make some exceptions while traveling. Since several years I am very concerned about the environment and the climate of our earth. In my homecountry, I participated in the FFF movement in order to contribute to the environmental and climate protection. I like to involve myself in and talk about this topic with other people (but no, I am not a preacher or missionary;)).

So...I guess, that's enough about me. What about you? If you find yourself in this description and would like to get to know me better, I am looking forward to hearing from you:)

See you soon
Julian

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mentioned in my description above, I love to meet interesting and fascinating people and learn about their thoughts, traditions and ways of life. Camping or staying in hostels is undoubtedly fun. You've always got new people around you from all over the world. But I guess, the best way of exploring a country with all its facets is by meeting and spending time with locals.

I have heard from the concept and the benefits of couchsurfing many times before. But I never really considered using it myself...until now^^ I believe, this plattform can help bringing people together, colleting awesome experiences and form good friendships. This is why I use couchsurfing from now on and I also think about hosting people, when I come back home.

Movies/ Series: Usually the most common stuff (LotR, GoT, Interstellar, Spongebob Squarepants, ...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far, I have collected many great experiences on my journeys. But one thing, i can tell about is eg. my stay at the Antonsons, that I met as a workwawayer on my way through Sweden.

I helped the family with different projects, especially on their aspargus-, garlic-, rhubarb- and seabuckthorn-farm in Förslöv (western coast of South Sweden). They included me as a part of their family. I learned about their daily life and traditional swedish dishes. They took me to their traditional festivals, told me about swedish culture and showed me the wonderful landscape.

Similar to Couchsurfing I learned about the country with the eyes of local people. I would recommend this to anyone, who wants to really experience a country. If you are interested, I will tell you more about this as soon as we meet each other:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to improve my english skills (especially vocabulary)
German is my mother tounge, so if you like to learn a little about this wonderful language, I am your man;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

What can I offer you? Hm...hard to tell...I have to admit, that I don't have any special or funny skills to offer, that I can show or teach you...oh I know some sign language...but seriously: I just like to have an awesome time with interesting people, hear about their lifes and collect some nice experiences with them. And I love having a coffe or a beer and talking about god and the world. Of course I adapt to rules and time schedules while staying at hosts. I can also buy and cook food etc.
