About Me

Hi, I'm Julian, a 20 year old from New York!
As a person, I am eager to deeply explore the world! I approach this desire through many different ways in my life. I am very social and love to meet new people and learn about their life experiences. I play electric guitar to better process and express my emotions. I love to run, bike, ski, and hike to strengthen my body and mind while being connected to nature. I also enjoy reading various books from Eastern philosophy to artist biographies. It also brings me so much joy to cook and bake for anyone who's hungry. Giving through food allows me to share a bit of my culture while learning about someone else. Sharing a meal is one of my favorite ways to bond with people. More generally, I would describe myself as kind, curious, compassionate, loving, ambitious, and hardworking. I hope this is a good description of who I am and I can't wait to learn more about who you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is one of my greatest passions! It allows me to cultivate a deeper connection between myself and the world around me. I love getting to know others deeply to understand the cultures and communities that shaped who they are. I am eager to couch surf to learn more about the world around me and the incredible people who share this planet with me. It is a priviledge to get to meet someone who has completely different life experiences and bond over our shared curiosity for the world. I hope to find hosts who are equally kind, curious, and compassionate towards others and our world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked around New Zealand for 2 months with a friend with nothing more than our backpacks and a love for adventure! We met some incredible people, camped out in some of the most beautiful places in the country, and undertook a 10-day silent meditation retreat with over 10 hours of practice a day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking: I would love to share Bulgarian and Italian dishes with my host as well as how to make your own starter for sourdough bread

Music: If you have a guitar lying around I would love to play music together and can share my knowledge of the instrument and music theory from my 6 years of experience.

Meditation: I am an avid meditator with 2 years of consecutive daily practice and would be eager to lead guided meditations and share my insights on how the practices can create more peace in one's mind and life.
