Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Julian, I'm 26 y/o and I'm from Switzerland. I've just spent 6 months in Tokyo living with a host family and researching at a lab at the University of Tokyo for my Master Thesis.
This time is coming to a close and I'll be spending the next 7 weeks to travel all around Japan. Looking forward to experiencing this amazing country.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't like staying in cheap hostels, frankly I found it to be pretty scary sometimes. That's why I decided to meet people via Couchsurfing. It's cheap, it's good quality and most importantly: it's super fun. It's clichee but I love meeting people from other countries and exchanging stories.
Interests
Playing the saxophone, dancing, swimming, scouts and of course: traveling!
I like meeting new people who broaden my horizon on the world.
I spend quite an amount of time on YouTube and enjoy reading Manga, especially shonen.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Ghibli Studio movies, Star Wars, Harry Potter (both the books and the movies) and Pirates of the Caribbean are all time favorites.
I enjoy reading all kinds of Manga and watching Anime.
My favorite music genre would be pop-punk rock but I'm open to many different genres like Blues, Jazz, Classic, classic Rock, Ska, EDM etc...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once hiked for 18 hours and 80 kilometers without breaks longer than 15 minutes. Amazing experience. My feet don't agree ;-)
Teach, Learn, Share
Since the school system in Switzerland provides a very wide and profound basic knowledge, I can be helpful with people learning German, English, French, Spanish or Swiss German or math, physics and chemistry.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my travel stories or anecdotes from my times at the scouts. I'm interested in having a good discussion about the differences and similarities of our countries.
I could also cook (and/or teach you how to cook) some famous swiss recipes like: Roesti, Raclette and Fondue.
