About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Unpredictable

ABOUT ME

I am friendly, respectful. I would like to walk and talk with you. I can dig camping in the forest, or dancing at a street festival. I hope my travels take me to good places.

PHILOSOPHY

Connection, education, and growth

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to surf, attend meetings, and eventually host once I have a place to myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most recently, I had a wonderful experience during the people's social forum in Ottawa, staying with a man named Mike who was charming and wise and generous.
In New Zealand, I was hitchhiking with a friend. One guy who picked us up offered to put us up at his house. It was hilarious. Once we were settled in, him and his friend (who's sister was the first guy's wife, weird) invited us to work out in the garage - this turned out to be secretly getting really stoned (his wife wasn't supposed to know, but she definitely did)
Then we took turns flipping a tractor tire, well everyone else did, I couldn't hack it. But it's still an awesome challenge. but the best part was the spontaneous laughing fit that infected everyone during dinner time.

Interests

Connection, education, and growth in every sense of the word

OK, well I guess...history, science, and good writing. music, film, and conversation. Playing and dancing are important to me. 'Oliver Twist' is my travel book right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Man, I'm lucky enough to have an iPod with a huge variety of music on it.
I would say my current tri-fecta is Jazz, Classical, and hip-hop. but that wouldn't even be accurate :p Can't forget afro-beat and minimal techno. etc. etc.!
Sometimes putting on Shuffle is the only way to go.

a while ago, this is what i put down:
Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, The Band, Beach House, Chopin, The Clash, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Fela Kuti, Fleet Foxes, Frank Zappa, Funkadelic, Galt Macdermot, Gorillaz, Grizzly Bear, Justice, Lou Reed, MGMT, The National, Nirvana, Operation Ivy, Outkast, Otis Redding, Parliament, Peter Bjorn and John, Pixies, Prince, Rachmaninoff, Radiohead, Sam Cooke, Sonic Youth, Stevie Wonder, The Strokes, Timber Timbre, TV on the Radio, Vampire Weekend, The Velvet Underground, The White Stripes, Wilco, Wolf Parade, Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The underground cities in Cappadocia, Turkey.
The low mountains on the island of Naxos, Greece.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I've been teaching music lessons, on piano and guitar. I really enjoy it.
I'm quite a good cook. I make a nice stir-fry, coconut curry, dahl, etc.
I love to learn and share through conversation. I'm most curious about history, politics, and science (I've always loved physics and cosmology, if only distantly)

I would also love to jam, musically, dance, wickedly, and free-style, rhythmically :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Italy, New Zealand, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
