About Me

---------------------- Currently not hosting ----------------------

Hello! I think the best word to describe me would be "Thoughtful". Indeed, I think about everything, especially human behavior really fascinates me. I like to know people that have been through really harsh situations and understand how do they live each day after that. There's a bad side of thinking too much: I seldom find the answers to my questions and it is frustrating. I also dislike the feeling of obligation, the "I have to do this" and I am afraid of becoming a person that says this about my work, instead of doing it because I feel true joy in that.

Right now I balance mostly between Medicine and Computational Engineering. I would like to learn sign language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am very lazy, so every time I see the word "couch" I am immediately attracted to it. Nahhh, ok, I was just kidding. I am on Couchsurfing because it combines the most needed thing for one to live in a society: people; and the most needed thing for me to feel alive: travelling. I like to meet meaningful people, people that like to have really nice conversations about pretty much anything - human behavior, physics, fundamental rights , etc. - and with whom I can get to know wonderful places. I believe that everyone can be very special and I am sure that I will meet some people and then feel sorry for not living in the same country than those people, because we had so marvelous experiences together, but well, that's a part of Couchsurfing too, get to know amazing things and amazing people and then be able to let go and come back to our lives with an extra extraordinary friend.

Music, Movies, and Books

Portuguese writers, especially José Saramago and Fernando Pessoa, but also Vergílio Ferreira. And speaking of Vergílio Ferreira, I also appreciate Albert Camus and Franz Kafka, even though I usually don't read their books in a row.
1984 by George Orwell was also a book I liked.
Flatland by Abbott^2 is a masterpiece.

Regarding cinema, I can remember right now Lars von Trier and Bernardo Bertolucci, among others directors that I like.

In what comes to music, I like rock with a touch of punk. I really like Scorpions. My friends always prevent me from being the DJ at parties because eventually it will fall back into the 60s , 70s or 80s because that's pretty much my Spotify. Also like some indie, but it depends... I like Radiohead, but I am not a big fan of Tame Impala for example. Oh and The Black Keys, I love it of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, at an age that I was not allowed to drink alcohol at the United States, I moved to a whole new city to work and live only my by self and exclusively with the money I made during that time. During that time I decided to host people from around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

My thoughts essentially, as well as experiences and stories that can make a nice talk, I also enjoy to listen to other's people's stories, especially when I could see myself doing those things they are telling me, but by circumstances of life I didn't do it.
