I'm a native Brazilian and have lived most of my adult life outside of Brazil. I've spent some time in Germany, went to grad school in Hawaii, and spent almost a decade working for a tech company in the states of Texas and California in the US. Right before the pandemic, I decided to quit my job to travel South America.

As it turns out, my travels had to wait as COVID-19 closed the borders at the beginning of 2020. While I waited for COVID-19 for a break, I ended up in a small village by the beach on the coast of northeast Brazil named Maracaípe. I fell in love with the place, and ever since, I have been practicing open-water swimming, traveling a bit around the coast on my bike, and spending long hours on my hammock.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and learning about local culture and individuals. On my journeys, I have found so many great and generous people who help keep me positive about the world despite all the things we cannot change.
