Über mich
Oh Hi there, my name is Julian and I am from Flensburg, an odd, little town right at the top edge of the map of Germany. You don't even need an app to find Flensburg: Just keep driving north until you hit Denmark, hit reverse, back up a few yards and you have arrived in my home town (and possibly driven your car into the Baltic Sea).
These days I live in Leipzig, which is just as unknown to foreigners, but has actually become quite the popular hipster city. To answer your question, yes it is basically the Portland of Germany (aka "Hype-zig" and "Better-Berlin" as the snobby elite likes to call it). We have numerous parks, beautiful fake lakes, hidden outdoor techno raves, abandoned industrial regions converted to awesome living spaces, tons of cheap food and no actual jobs or industry to speak of.
I have worked a myriad of odd jobs during the past years, basically anything that pays the bills, which often translates to minimum wage. Be that due to my severe lack of business sense or my inability to just lie about my resume like everyone else does (English Major, seriously? What was I thinking?).
When I don't work I like to travel, draw or write. Preferably all of it. When I'll grow up I will be a freelancing comic artist that travels the world and just draws for a living. Believe it or not, that was actually my dream as a kid. That and seeing the T-Rex skeleton they have in the New York Museum of Natural History (I have now actually seen it).

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I love all kinds of books and will read anything that sparks my interest. I am a sucker for great storytelling and even more so if it involves dragons, wizards and epic battles (Bonus points if it takes place in space). Here are some of the books that have profoundly influenced me and that I keep coming back to:
Neuromancer , Stranger in a Strange Land, Gunslinger, Dune, A Scanner Darkly , Musashi, The Lord of the Rings, A Game of Thrones, Akira, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The War of Art
Music is my every day companion, during the daily grind, at my job, during social gatherings, at parties, with or without people. While there is no single genre that I exclusively listen to, I do like folk, ambient, minimal, alternative, nu-metal, deep-house, classic rock and indie-tronic. I detest charts music with a vengeance and have yet to find a radio station that I actually enjoy.
Here are some random pickings of albums that I love:
Lateralus, Selected Ambient Works Volume II, Blue, The Story of the Clash, Fallout OST, Eric Burdon Declares War, Bu-ikikaesu, You're the One, Hunky Dory, The Covers Record, Adrenaline, Toxicity, Wish You Were Here, Amigo, More Chocolate, The Science of Things, Give Up, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Next up: Movies! Let's waste the day away and watch movies and cartoons. What are you waiting for, you don't have to convince me. Here are some of my favorites:
12 Monkeys, Donnie Darko, Dragonball, Fight Club, Labyrinth, Aliens,True Detective, Blade Runner, Chinatown, Kim Possible, We're No Angels, The Maltese Falcon, Vertigo, Seven Samurai, Once Upon a Time in the West, Star Wars, Dazed and Confused, TMNT - The Movie, Army of Darkness
All right, it's confession time: I am a huge nerd and I love board games. One of my favorite ways to socialize is to gather a bunch of people around a table and play some games. Don't worry, you won't be playing anything like Monopoly with me. Here is what I dig:
Android Netrunner , Cosmic Encounter , Descent 2nd Edition, Thunderstone Advance, King of Tokyo, Pandemic, Ghost Stories
And last, but not least: Video Games. I have spend huge chunks of my childhood and teenage years on games. No regrets here, games are awesome.
UFO: Enemy Unknown , Half Life 2, Fallout 2, Alpha Centauri, Planescape: Torment, Gothic 2, Diablo 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Secret of Mana, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Kotor 2

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
My complete and undivided time and attention and everything I know (which isn't much to begin with). Seriously, I hope we can hang and have a good time together, maybe have dinner, talk, watch movies, go out, stay in, discuss life and happiness, drink coffee, wander around town, get lost, discuss books, movies, games, I'm open for anything, really.
