About Me

After having finished my university education in spring and bicycle touring across Europe in summer, I'm about to start my teacher training in Krefeld in November. My subjects will be English and Sozialkunde (social studies).
I would like to think of myself as a rather funny, sporty and polite person - if that's true is up for you to decide.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are loads of reasons I think Couchsurfing is great. But I think what I loved the most on the few occasions I used Couchsurfing or Warmshowers was to get a glimpse into somebody else's life. I think exchanging in that kind of way can really help to open one's horizons. Considering how in today's society people in general distrust each other, I really love the concept of people who don't know each other sharing a roof, a day or a beer - all for free and to get to know new people. I may sound like a naive hippie but I really think that can really contribute to making the world a better place.
Due to my past living conditions, I haven't been able to host many people yet, but I hope that this will change once I have moved to Krefeld.

Interests

Sport is a very important part of my life. Running for instance always helps me to relax and think over problems and therefore makes me a happier person. Sport has always had big impacts on my life as well. I met some of my best friends when I used to row - and after working as a rowing coach for beginners, I decided to become a teacher.

I also love listening to music. I tried to teach myself how to play the guitar, but I'd rather not want to perform in front of anybody else.

Needless to say, I love traveling, being outdoors, getting to know new cultures, bladibla... who in this community doesn't?

Music, Movies, and Books

I am one of the few people who still buy CDs, my collection includes about 500 CDs of all kinds of genres so I always find it hard to describe my taste of music. Just to give you an impression: I love Beatsteaks, Blumentopf, Deichkind, Götz Widmann, Jack Johnson, Rantanplan, The White Stripes, The Libertines, Die Toten Hosen, Eels, Queen!, CCR, Johnny Cash and, of course, The Backstreet Boys.

Currently, I listen a lot to The Cat Empire, The Lumineers or AnnenMayKantereit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bike toured across Europe for four months: 12 countries and almost 10.000 km - a dream come true.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to row if you own a rowing boat and don't know how to row yet... In this case, I could also teach you not to buy items you have no use for.

What I Can Share with Hosts
