Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think to stay at some others places is and can be used for both not paying for a hostel and getting to know interesting people. For me, it has something of both: I simply couldn't afford travelling as much as I do, if I had to stay in hostels all the time. But this shouldn't be the only reason to do couchsurfing, and you should be aware that other people spend time and effort inviting you to their places - so for me it is also about wanting to get in contact with the people and the person who invite me. And also showing interest for them- and not only for their couch...

By the way: I don't like the fact that couchsurfing uses couchsurf as a registered trademark. I think people have stayed at other peoples places since a long time, and now it is on a Webpage it is nothing new and nothing to be privatised (even though a webpage makes things easier...)
