About Me

I grew up in the forest and hills in the countryside of Victoria. I'm now trying to piece together a random life that incorporates all my passions and experiences working/studying construction and humanitarian crises/responses across the world. I currently live in an off-grid sustainable home in Australia and you'll find me hiking and climbing whenever I get the opportunity. Nothing bores me though and I'm just as happy having a drink under the stars outdoors as I am on a trolley car in a modern mega city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been to many countries and found that the best experiences come from talking to people over a coffee/chai/beer so I want to multiply those encounters.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always harbouring a huge passion for mid nineties Hip Hop but West African music has become my biggest addiction over the last 5 odd years. Honestly, though if it's not Ed Sheeran I'm happy. I grew up with a film buff for a father so put on anything from 1910 to 1960 and I'm happy. One of my fondest travel memories was watching Abbott and Costello late at night in an apartment in Western China with a bunch of randoms.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Very little, but I've seen more of the world than I ever would have thought and managed to balance other commitments with this passion so that's something.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share good conversation. I'm deeply interested in history and politics but also just the way the world and our lives turn more generally so I would love to learn literally anything about you, your life, and your country. I can share the same.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some musings about what little of the world I've seen. I can also teach very, very, very basic proficiency in various musical instruments including the recorder. Let me loose in the kitchen and some paneer masala might come your way.
