ABOUT ME

I am one of those people that makes you look twice and scrath your head (in a good way). I can be complex, but I am really very simple. I see the world through a lens that comes from profound life experiences and the study of many different beliefs.

Some descriptors used about me by others: Real, radiant, grounding, authentic, brave, courageous, strong and reflective.

I cherish deep real conversations with people, but you will not find me debating the rights or wrongs of most situations. Listening is my favorite part of any conversation and Ive found it challenging to listen when I am planning my next words.

Having said that, I tell a good story and I have plenty of them to share. Especially over a nice glass of wine.

I love to cook, especially: Thai, Indian and Italian. It is like a meditation for me to cook for others. Especially when the fridge is full of fresh food from the farmers market. Which is my favorite place to shop for most anything food orientated.

Ill eat most anything, though I like it to have at least 2 of the words here associated with it: free-range, local, organic, fair-trade, humanely treated, etc...having said that, if someone offers me something yummy, I'm not going to turn up my nose.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I cannot say Ive participated very much just yet. BUT I can share my intention and how I see myself participating in the future as well as how, if invited to stay with you, Ill participate in your home.

Staying in your home I will respect your boundaries, honor your private space, make you laugh, make you wonder and make you dinner. Ill even clean it up!

Some of the closest people I know in my life are peeps that were just traveling through and ended up a part of my heart for always. I love those connections and seek to create more of them. AND for now, Im the one in travel/transition mode.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mmmmmmmm...limited and enormous? Most of my couch surfing has been with friends. Ive not tried it with people I dont know well. Thats why I am here, to meet new peeps in a way Ive not tried before.

Interests

Id love to learn to surf. I have taught SUP in the past, but have yet to try it on the waves. Anything to do with the outdoors, healing arts, talking story, reading books and laughing a lot, preferably while getting a tan.

Music, Movies, and Books

Diana Gabaldon "The Outlander Series" (http://www.dianagabaldon.com/writing/the-outlander/) If you like history, romance, fantasy, the 18th centery, strong heroine characters or strong highlander males...you will LOVE these books. Not only is the story fantastic, her writing is some of the best I have ever witnessed.

Adyashanti "The End of Your World" (http://www.adyashanti.org/index.php?file=productdetail&iprod_id=326) Fantastic read talking about awakening with grace while living of the world. Really good stuff for people, like myself, who live a "spiritual" life, but arent so keen on all the "spiritual" hype out there. Bare bones conversation happens here.

Some of my favorite music well...its really so very varied Im not sure where to start. From Likke Li to Snautam Kaur to NIN, I got range.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So much! Its been a full life! To keep it simple... I still love that I meet my friend (who was in Spain at the time) in Ireland, where we did a southern Ireland road trip and then flew to Egypt--during Ramadan--to sail down the Nile. Yup...that was some interesting range in sights.
