Hello! My name is Julianne and I am in love with seeing the world, connecting with people, and collecting experiences. I have a loose bucket list that includes things like skiing on every continent, performing meaningful volunteer aid work abroad somewhere, and learning to speak another language. I am a big fan of my home city, Philadelphia, and love to show people around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I want to meet new people and experience places like a local, not through a tour bus. It's just a deeper, more authentic travel experience. While I am not currently available to host, I am always willing to meet up and give you the lay of the land here in Philly!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I enjoy experiencing music - through making it or seeing live shows. I primarily play ukulele and French horn/mellophone, and I am currently learning bass guitar. I love listening to NPR All Songs Considered to discover new artists.

Movies and Books
Mostly things belonging to the documentary/non-fiction variety to attempt to satiate my desire for knowledge. Netflix has so much more than just TV-binge-watching to offer, and I highly recommend checking out some documentaries on there (Wasteland, Urbanized, The Radiant Child, The Summit... to name a few of my favorites). If I ever wanna veg-out, I typically settle for something action/adventure or foreign. I am currently reading A Devil to Play by Jasper Rees in addition to a couple mid-century dinosaur books with great illustrations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was chased by a bull once (I either outran him or he gave up) and I wasn't even in Spain!

I pride myself in being a very curious generalist, always looking to learn at least one new thing a day. I love to share my passion for art, design, and music. Creating something together can be an incredible experience worth sharing. I love to have companions to explore with and am always willing to check out your favorite place in town!
