About Me
ABOUT ME
I am an active, easy-going, flexible person who is interested in people, culture, the environment. I worked for several years as an Extension Educator for Sea Grant and then 4-H Youth Development with our state University and enjoyed it all. I was one of the first naturalists and then director of a new coastal environmental center, then later focused on bringing science, environmental education and gardening to inner city youth. I am now retired and happy to travel simply, visiting friends and family and new places - hopefully by foot or bicycle or boat as much as possible.
Interests
I enjoy being outdoors - walking, bicycling, camping, swimming, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, paddling canoe and sea kayak. Reading is also important to me and I also enjoy learning about and participating in history, art and music venues. Traveling is a wonderful thing and being able to meet people, hear about their towns and lifestyles is a great aspect of it all. I live on the east coast, but have friends in the west, so find that my loves include mountains, water and big skies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been fortunate to have had mountaineering/cycling friends who saw me as someone that - though I was and still am not anywhere near as skilled or strong as they, would invite to do some wonderful things in the outdoors because as they put it, "She doesn't whine or complain, and tends to smile a lot." So I have paddled the Rio Grande, the Allagash, the Bonaventure and the St. John.
