About Me
Hey there!
My name is Julie and i am currently living in Sydney! What an amazing city, i really love it here.
What am I doing here?
Well, after I graduated high schol I didn't want to start Uni immediately so I went to Sydney as an aupair to enjoy my gap year with nice roadtrips, my friends of course and exploring the city!
Where am I from?
I am a German in Australia, what a cliché, right? But that is not the whole truth: I am half french! SURPRISE!
I love different cultures and languages and my goal is to experience as much as possible in different countries to broaden my horizon and to experience a totally different lifestyle, such as trying vegemite on a buttertoast ;D What an xperience haha. So I would describe myself as an easygoing, openminded and very happy person who loves to get out of her comfort zone.
Hobbies/ Skills?
I can speak french, german and english and would love to learn some spanish in the future.
I love to cook, go out at night and have lots of fun with my mates or peole I just randomly met haha.
During my high school I made some schoolexchanges and lived for two months in Paris in a very nice and cherful family and some weeks in a lovely and warmheartened chinese family, believe me, each day was a new adventure! I also made a short term student exchange in Barcelona where I could experience "las tapas" y "vamos a la playa"XD. To be honest theses experiences all pushed me somehow to get out of my old life and dive into a new one in Australia! So wish me good luck and let's see how this will go. I am excited!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I want to enjoy my gap year to the fullest and travel on budget I decided to do some couchsurfing during my time in Australia. And what is better than getting in contact with locals and making some friends overseas in different cities? I couldn't tell. So, I really believe in the concept of " Sharing is caring" (I hope my hostkids will as well at the end of my stay haha) and something I learned in Barcelona: "My casa es su casa". And of course I want to meet as many different and interesting people as possible around the world :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I am open to everything: EDM, Rock, House, RnB and so on. I just went to a really cool concert in Newtown, Sydney: Unknown Mortal Orchstra. It was amazing.
As long as the book is interesting and has a nice storyline I can read everything from lovenovel to thriller, true-life-novel and so on.
But if I also have the possibility to watch some Netflix, I won't say no! I love Series and could watch them a hole day!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Creating a profile on couchsurfing??? XD
Living for two moths in Paris and some weeks in China, was really nice but there are so many other things I loved and still wanna do which is why I think Ill have to experience even a bit more to be able to find the ONE AMAZING thing I have done in my life haha.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is how we do it: TEACH, LEARN AND SHARE ! Otherwise you'll get lost in big cities such as Shanghai, Sydney or some other places. No really, I believe in this moto as I think you can only make some progresses in your life if you are willing to share your thoughts and experiences with other people and if you are willing to learn how to see different aspects from other point of views!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my sense for humor, my happiness and of course my culture with you. To be honest I can share whatever you want me to share with you. I am very generous and love sharing. As I love to cook I could also imagine cooking for you one night, going out with you and doing some fun stuff, of course only if you have time for this, because I also don't want to take all of your private time. As I am also french and a girl on top, I love to have some nice conversations and talking about a bit of everything but PLEASE don't be afraid, I know when it is enough and I am independent enough to also do my own thing and experience the new place Ill stay at on my own.
