About Me

Hey !

I am Julie. Young human growing up. Fan of songs and campfires. Volunteer to offer stories and hugs to the young people I take care of during summer camps (group of lay scouts). Ex-student - since this spring (2019) - and future geek speech therapist in maturation.

What can I say if I just want to talk about the "real" self?

I like reading, since always. I like to enter imaginary worlds. I am also really interested in reading books about emotions, human beings or ordinary lives, with all the enthusiastic and beautiful things we can find there.

In my everyday life, I also like to write for my personal joy (and my sanity!). I think words are powerful, and I try to convey good vibrations to people I love with mine, whenever possible.

I am a very curious person. In recent years, I have tried to open myself to feminist, sociological or ecological causes. I understood that I could learn a lot by meeting different people and discussing with them. I would like to learn more!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided a few months ago to do a one-year work-holiday project in Canada for the end of my study period. Couchsurfing could be a great way to meet locals and discover a neighborhood or region from the inside.

I have the chance to share the first month with an incredible woman, also speech therapist and great friend - Maïra (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/mirou123?action=show&controller=user_profiles).

We will try woofing in Canada too, but that's another story! At the end, I think to continue the experience by welcoming foreigners in my future potential cocooning apartment in Lyon (France).

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like acoustic music. I am attached to voices, melodies, and I like to look for harmonics when I hear one. I also like artists who play with words. At the moment, I'm listening to artists like Nazca, Cats on Trees, Fauve or Ben Mazué. I also like Kygo or Ludovico Eindaudi, in other musical genres.

I like to play the piano too, especially when I can share songs with friends or with children that I take care of. These are the best parties.

Writing on books I like would be too long. At least I could say that I'm a fan of the Harry Potter saga, with which I grew up.
I think that my favorite author is Pierre Bottero, a Frenchman who has opened a lot of "doors" with his world-books (you should try the Ellana saga: a jewel!).
