CURRENT MISSION

Hey people!
I'm currently on a 3-months visit to Sydney with the mission to discover Sydney and find a job, or at least seek for possibilities !
I got my permanent residency a year and a half ago and have decided to settle in Australia, in Sydney's region.

ABOUT ME

Basically I'm a happy person and like to make people happy around me!

I lived in Brisbane 2006-2010, for my PhD and tremendously enjoyed my life in Queensland.
I then moved to New Caledonia 2011-2015, where I happen to shift professionally from research to environmental education and uni teaching, as a result of a deep personal development process, still ongoing.

I love laughing and being active and I'm always up for new things to do though I utterly need quiet and solitary times.
I am a very caring and respectful person.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone's fighting their own battles, be compassionate.

Happiness is not a destination, it is a state of mind.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I discovered CS back when I was in Brisbane and I loved the concept.
I'm now myself discovering a new city with the project to settle in and CS is certainly a great way to meet people and have a better sense of Sydney and its surroundings.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted people, time allowing during my PhD when I was living Brisbane, and was hosted a few times by Cs members (Malaysia, Blue Mountains), and non-CS members during my travels.
I have met up a couple of time with CS members in New Caledonia these last few years but haven't been able to provide a couch then, living in a little studio. We caught up on a few evenings to organise active week-ends in the lovely nature NC has to offer.
So to be honest I haven't been a really active CS member due to life commitments, and I'm now willing to engage more into the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had only good and enriching experiences through couch surfing.

Intereses

OUTDOORS / SPORTS
I love sailing, surfing, swimming, camping, diving (scuba, free), hicking, rock climbing...
I practice yoga, play volley ball and am keen on discovering other activities.

SOCIAL
I love dancing, this is my energy - as much as a good laugh! I dance swing, salsa, zouk, merengue, batchata, tahitian, a bit of tango and flamenco. I would like to learn kizomba as I only have the very light basics.
I love good (fun and / or serious) chats sipping a coffee or a glass of wine.
Of course I love good food, but I'm not fussy about simple snacks either, as long as it's fresh and balanced.

CULTURAL
I could spend hours in museums, exhibitions, reading books or watching movies.
I love live music.
I play the piano and would love on day to play the bass guitar!
I love traveling to new countries.
