About Me
Hi there!
My name's Julie, and I live in Paris.
I am curious and enthusiastic, a food lover, and also a weird organized person who loves calm evenings with a book and herbal tea.
I love writing stories and music. I do both these days, during my free time. You can find me on Instagram if you want to listen to some sounds! Advertising time: @yuulislands
My main occupation for the moment is to study Sociology. I'm a PhD Student, fond of daily practices and the ecological transition, so I work on sustainable consumption, and in particular on people who try and keep their objects longer. Basically, it consists in entering houses of unknown people, talking with them for hours about their old toaster and their life course.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m open to meeting new people from all over the world by welcoming them in Paris! If you play music it’s a plus ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music: mainly progressive rock, flirting with jazz. The greatests: Radiohead - Pink Floyd - Jeff Buckley - Grizzly Bear - Half Moon Run
Favorite movies: quite a hard question! My favorite director is French, so not very famous I guess; his name is Cedric Klapisch. I also like watching series.
Favorite books: definitely a Potterhead, guess my house would be Ravenclaw but Pottermore keeps putting me in Gryffindor — which is absurd, I'm definitely not brave enough :O
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook, so don't hesitate if you want me to cook someday!
I also can teach you / speak French with you, if you want to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a very good listener; I would love to learn more about your life course, your experiences, your daily routines. I love listening to people's stories. That is basically the reason why I'm studying sociology; to meet inspiring people, now what real life is from another perspective! If you have time and are open to this, I'd be delighted to share activities/visits with you.
