About Me

I grew up in a tiny town the middle of the US. My family rarely traveled and never took family vacays, but I am a gypsy at heart. I have lived in 4 states and I’m super excited to be moving to Hamburg, Germany in 2019. I love to travel and working in aviation has opened up so many opportunities to do it. Also, aircraft engines are awesome. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet other like minded people who are happy to share a bit of their life with you. As a guest, it has made some absolutely amazing travel experiences possible (want to tour Paris with an architectural engineering PhD as your personal tour guide or attend a Latin dance festival with a dance partner who took lessons for 12 years?) and as a host it makes everyday life a bit more entertaining.

Interests

Paddleboarding, reading, hiking (day trips), learning languages. I've been working on German for a bit and just started Italian.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Followed the Blues and Tamale Trail up through Mississippi into Tennessee and ate more tamales in a week than I thought was humanly possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always looking for opportunities to practice speaking German. I do occasionally like to visit tourist places, but I am more interested in seeing a city from a local's viewpoint, sitting in cafes to people watch, and talking to people to get new ideas and better understand the world. I also love to try new foods.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook...I learned all my Italian husband's best secrets! And wine, I love to share wine and stories. Also, I am a great math tutor, if that's what you need. ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
