After a couple of years working not-so-happily in Mexico & Latin America, I am trying to turn lemons into lemonade and start up my own travel brand, Jetset Julie, whereby I will be exploring the world as a single female traveller and sharing my perspectives with people back home and over the world.

I'm interested therefore in a lot of new experiences, not just for me but for the sake of my brand, always looking to meet nice people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that staying with people gives you a different perspective when visiting new places, in addition to (obviously) a financial benefit while exploring. I'm interested moreso in staying with people than in hosting at the moment as the place where I'm living right now is not my own so I don't have as much say exactly in who can stay with me. That will change in the near future, though!

Interests

I love foreign languages and would really like to bump up my skills in Asian languages, especially Mandarin, Japanese if possible (I just think it's so pretty), and then I'm open to other world languages. I have no idea how to cook, but I think that this is also something I should start learning. I like writing, reading, and exploring nature. I prefer tropical climates (whether beach or city) to colder climes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading modern fiction, memoir, travel essays & chick lit. With part of my adventure I'm hoping to eventually produce some great children's books as well :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think that I am about to travel for 5 months in Southeast Asia (from Feb through July 2015) is pretty cool... I'm sure I've done a lot of amazing things, but like other people who do a lot of amazing things, once you've done them you're not so big to boast about it..?
