About Me

======================
My nickname when I made this account years ago was Julie, but my name is (and prefers to be) Julian. I studied writing in college and have kept up with it pretty well (poetry, fiction, screenwriting). I write a lot and read a lot of poetry (Gregory Pardlo, Frank O'Hara, Ocean Vuong). I love being outdoors, exploring, and talking with new people. I'm very thankful and enthusiastic about couchsurfing and getting the ability to connect with locals in a new town. I have appreciated greatly the couches I've been able to surf on and the friends I've made (and I'm ready to make more!). I like to laugh and be light. I like getting out of the house, cooking, and seeing new things. As a guest I always try to be mindful of others, leave no trace, and share what I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Quiero conocer otras historias y culturas y explorar otras ciudades.
====================
I like to learn from people and practice things (like the languages of love and giving). I especially love sharing things, being around open minded people, and having stimulating conversations. I have found that couchsurfing provides a great means with which to practice giving, to experience a new town/place, and to enjoy the company of strangers.

Interests

Estoy tratando aprender español y me encanta practicar mi español o ayudarte a practicar tu íngles.
====================
I write poetry. When I'm not writing poetry I'm usually practicing my patch making skills, climbing trees, swimming in mountain lakes, biking to the local coffee shop, or daydreaming. I'm really good at:

Taking care of black widows.
Keeping the music on all day.
Judging good sunsets.
Letting go of unnecessary stress.
Adventuring aimlessly.

Teach, Learn, Share

Me gusta compartir música.
===================
I like to share music. I can make you unlimited mixed cds. I can share and bounce around life ideas with you, about things like meditation or educational systems, traveling and what it's like to visit Cambodia (and how to do it). I can help your kids with their homework or teach you about transplanting root systems. I know a lot about writing and poetry, a good bit about bees, and a good measure of communal living systems, community gardens, and community education + workshops. We can practice our Spanish or English together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

===================
I will clean your house, do the dishes, pet your dog/cat, and trade you things. I am open minded and am willing to help you with anything around the house whether it's cooking or painting or writing. I like hanging out and talking but am good at intuitively recognizing when space is needed.
