About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Bringing more compassion into the world, promoting permaculture and competing in Crossfit events :)
ABOUT ME
We are a belgian couple from Brussels and we have been together since July 2006. We were studying almost the same stuff at the University, one of us studied bioingeneering, the other biology and we met on an internship in southern France. We have been together since then :)We travelled around the world for a year in 2010-2011, during which we discovered couchsurfing and an uncountable amount of great people, which is one thing we absolutely love about it! :) Now Julie has been working at NSF since two years and a half, and Ludwig (me :)) is a science teacher. We both love travelling, meeting new people, speaking different language, do some sport and host couchsurfers :)
PHILOSOPHY
We are laid-back people with which is is quite difficult to argue or fight since we usually try not to be led to that point. We think that if you are broad-minded enough, a lot of things in life become much easier. However, life is not about always looking for the path of least difficulty. We believe that it is outside of your comfort zone that magic can happen into your life and yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We surfed a lot during our trip around the world. We had so many good experiences as surfers that we really wanted to allow people to do the same in our home town. So now we started hosting people at our place, which has been great so far!

Interests
Because during our studies we got involved in a lot of research concerning nature, environmental problems, how things works etc. we developed a great interest and respect towards nature and every living thing that populates it. This interest express itself into different activities, hiking, that we love to undertake together. We also like good food and good wine, which naturally led us to enjoy cooking. In 2014, we discovered an alien sport named Crossfit and we both fell in love with this insane thing. We practice four to five hours a week, though we won't spend our entire time talking about it. We also both sing in a choir, and Ludwig also likes to play the piano once on a while. Generally, we are curious people who like to discover new things and meet new people. Everyone has something to teach to this world!

Music, Movies, and Books
We have to admit that music isn't our all-life passion but still, we enjoy listening to good, entertaining music. What we mean by that, is music that brings joy, not a song that makes you die of sadness after you listened to the first sentence. We like music like the canadian group "Les Cowboys fringants", ska music, but also french song and artists, and also latino music. Book is a more difficult topic, as we do not read the same kind of book. I, for instance, enjoy reading a historical book a bit novelized, but Ludwig prefers reading scientific books about sustainable development and science, or fantastic litterature like, among others, "The Lord of the Rings".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In february 2010, we went in Argentina and among other things, we saw the Igazu falls, which was the most beautiful thing we had ever seen in our life.
During this travel, we can underline the Surfing lessons with Ryan in Australia, a very scary earthquake in Christchurch, Mount Cook national Park in the sunshine, playing with seal pups in the wild, bungy jumping in Lake Taupo, NZ,...
