About Me

I'm an Italian girl, but I spent two years living in Wales, attending the United World College of the Atlantic, and I'm currently studying as an undergraduate in Singapore. Next fall I will be starting a Master of Public Health in the United States. I also studied in Mexico City at a local university for a semester last fall. I love learning languages and cooking; I'm interested in politics, art and history; and I'm currently learning Arabic and how to dance salsa!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

***THIS IS NOT A DATING/HOOKUP WEBSITE. There are other apps for that. I won't answer people if I feel intentions are not genuine/respectful.***

I couchsurfed a few times and I always had great experiences. It's the most genuine way of traveling and it's heart-warming to be able to connect with complete strangers wherever you go!

Currently, I'm back in my hometown, Bologna, for a few weeks on summer holiday, and I would love to meet up with people in city to show you around or simply grab a coffee and have a good chat.

Places and people I couchsurfed with:
- Reina and Tomoko in Tokyo, Japan
- Fern in Hong Kong
- Ula in Edinburgh, Scotland
- Anya in Saint Petersburg, Russia
- Tanya in Belfast, Northern Ireland
- Nadia in Cancún, Mexico
- Ruta in Kaunas, Lithuania
- Tomas in Vilnius, Lithuania
- Bros in Paphos, Cyprus
- Ayham in Amman, Jordan

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading but unfortunately I can't do it as much as I would like to during the semester due to class readings. Some of the best books I've read lately include The Dispossessed (Ursula Le Guin), The Brothers (Milton Hatoum), and Seasons of Migration to the North (Tayeb Salih).

Music: I'm currently obsessed with Nathy Peluso, Princess Nokia, Ghali, and my guilty pleasure is reggaeton.

I've recently watched Jessica Jones, The Good Place, Chewing Gum, Broad City, Please Like Me, Suburra.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-surfing and coasteering in the Pembrokeshire National Park, UK
-travelling around China for a month a half
-celebrating Orthodox Christmas in Macedonia
-walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain
-dancing in Brazil and Cuba
-studying in Mexico for a semester
-working as an intern in Morocco for a summer

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always happy to teach some Italian to anybody interested, and I enjoy learning new languages, even if only a couple words. I believe that learning a few words of a foreign language when travelling is a sign of respect towards a culture, and putting the effort to connect with locals in their own language opens many doors. If I know your language, I will do my best to speak it, and if I don't, I would love to learn what I can.
I love cooking and I'm always looking forward to learning different recipes and sharing my favourite ones.
More than everything, I love sharing stories! I'm happy to sit in front of a cup of tea and just chat - hearing about people's lives is always the most interesting part of travelling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and I'd be glad to share my favourite recipes and learn new ones with my hosts, and I'm always up for a language exchange!
