PHILOSOPHY

Creation is the key to knowing yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate through meeting up with people in Paris who are new or new to couchsurfing, and I have hosted some. I also travelled uniquely with couchsurfing in Argentina and most recently in Naples.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have lots of CS experience and have met amazing and generous people through this website! I've gone hiking through the Andes, participated in family parties, and gone to plays all with my CS hosts! I have learned Spanish as well thanks to all my surfing in Argentina!

Interests

I love to read, to listen to music, to go museums, and the cinema. I love trying new exciting foods, and trying to make them in my teeny tiny kitchen. I love to learn and I am always taking some kind of class, be it adult education, art, or a seminar. Sometimes I like to dance and jump up and down on my bed when I'm home alone. I have been trying to keep a blog about my adventures as a classroom teacher and a learning specialist.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books include the Artist's Way, all of David Sedaris, all of Jonathan Coe, and Travels in Siberia by Ian Frazier is the last book I read.
I love pop music, and today i listened to Burt Bacharach, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Flight of the Conchords, and Mozart
My all time favorite movies are the Three Amigos and the Princess Bride, and The Thin Man Series of Films!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have interned in a French Psychiatric hospital, learning about patients and how to help them. It was amazing and scary. I volunteered in an art studio with people who have developmental disabilities, and seeing their art and how they created inspired me to work towards being an art therapist. I've been in a parade for a France/Scotland football game, and I ended up on the front page of the Scottish Daily Mail. There's a lot more...

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an English as a Foreign Language Teacher with ten years experience, and I am always willing to exchange conversation classes, and i am an excellent baker, and love to teach people how to bake cupcakes and cookies. In the homes that I have stayed in, I usually try to cook a meal or two for my hosts!
