About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing university as soon as possible and planning a trip around the world

ABOUT ME

I´d say I am a very open-minded and honest person and I respect others for who they are. I am very optimistic and always try to take life in a positive way so it´s pretty hard to have an argument with me :) I love parties and meeting new people and try to have as much fun as I can. My passion in life is languages and the cultures they belong to and I´ve set myself the target to master 10 foreign languages by the age of 40.
I really got into travelling over the last few years and now I can´t get enough of it!! I lived in Málaga / Spain for a couple of years and even though I would have loved to stay there for the rest of my life, I decided to go to university (haven´t regretted it so far :). I did get a bit bored of it after a while so I decided to take a break and move to London (still no regrets at all) where I had probably the most amazing time of my life!! I am currently finishing my bachelors degree and I have already decided to do a trip around the world this summer.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, you better make the most out of it aaaand never worry about things that haven´t happened yet as it´ll all be good in the end :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started CouchSurfing in 2008 when I travelled through Spain with a friend. I only realised then how much fun it is and how hospitable strangers can be when you only just met them. You can never experience that much fun when you stay in a hotel and you never get to meet locals in such an easy way and learn so much about their culture!! I was so impressed and wanted to give it back (even though it might not be the same people)so I started offering my couch to others in order to make them feel how I felt - amazing!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There were quite a few already, I guess its best to read my references as I can´t list all of them :) My next big experience will defo be the trip around the world so you guys better watch out! :)

Interests

I love Languages, Cultures, Parties, Music, Dancing, Travelling, Family and Friends, Snowboarding, Food.

I like a good book, talking on the phone to my friends I haven´t seen in ages, go shopping and redecorate my room every other week, chilling out on the sofa with my flatmates and watch Tatort (thats a German criminal movie and it´s my favourite!:)

I don´t like snobs, people who talk behind your back, lie, all those who are unable to think positive and take life easy, jealousy, cheaters, stealing, etc. so pretty much everyone who makes life difficult!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have to confess I like Sex and the City a lot and also stupid High School movies with happy end and the classic feel-good effect. I haven´t really seen many movies as I tend to fall asleep but one of my favourites is The Fifth Element, I could watch it over and over again.

I prefer series though, like The Simpsons, Futurama, Scrubs, Peep Show and the Inbetweeners. I got really into Prison Break a few years ago but since I got told off by friends cause I hadn´t left the couch for a whole weekend I am hiding them under my bed...

University makes me read a lot of books about translation strategies, history of language, grammar structures etc which keeps me pretty busy and leaves barely any time to read a book just for fun - I even like these books :). I read a lot of Stephen King when I was younger but some of his books scared me too much so I decided to switch to John Grisham who I got bored of after the third book. My last interesting books were the Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson, I can only recommend them!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thanks to my parents, I already saw a little bit of the world, like snowboarding on a 3000m mountain, diving around Cuba´s beaches, taking pictures of the Sphinx, walking over the Golden Gate Bridge with my daddy, etc but what I most enjoyed was the time I spent living abroad. Diving into the culture and become another person, thats what I fond most amazing about travelling. I can´t stop it.. :)

Countries I’ve Visited
