About Me

ABOUT ME

Just Julie. Love to travel.
I am not one for planning or worrying about life. If it happens it happens.

After my recent solo travels I have learnt a lot about travelling and the world and it has made me want to get into couchsurfing a lot more and to show people around my own country.

I am a very easy going person just loving life always looking for the silver lining. Let's hang out and share stories!

PHILOSOPHY

Take each day as it comes!

Bad decisions make good stories!

There is always a positive!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started couchsurfing with my best friend Louise a few years ago we stayed with a guy in Paris which was great. It is such a good experience staying with locals who know all the little quirky places to go as I am not a massive fan of simply going to the touristy places.

I have only surfed a few times since then. Hopefully I will be able to host soon depending on how my new flatmates feel about it but if I am not able to host I would love to show people around my city and will try my best to show you what you want to see in Scotland. I love meeting people from all over the world, sharing travel stories and just learning from each other.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great time couchsurfing in Penang with Enny in Penang! I stayed a lot longer than planned because we had so much fun!

Interests

I really want to expand my interests, I am so keen to learn new random skills and get involved in more sports and outdoor activities.

My recent discovery is diving which I did in Thailand.....I can't wait to get my Open Water!

I also enjoy climbing, that is also quite a new thing but living right opposite the climbing centre this year should be great fun!!

Being quite an active person I do enjoy sports. I play Ultimate Frisbee for my university team which is brilliant banter!

Also love my music, always enjoy a good gig, anything from rock to chilled acoustic. I work in a pub in Aberdeen with lots of live music so if you come visit and fancy a gig hopefully there will be something good on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Already mentioned how I love music. I love those days sitting on youtube discovering new music!

Hopefully getting the unlimited Cineworld card this year so I will be a very regular cinema goer! Because I am normally that person who says no every time you ask if they have seen a certain movie. I need to watch more movies!
Fight Club is the best though :)

Books - I also need to read more. I was given a few interesting reads on my latest travels. Currently reading Mr Nice....a very interesting read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helping with the preschool in the slums of India; such a humbling experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently studying to be a teacher but I feel like I learnt so much more in my 5weeks of travel than I did in 2 years of university!

In my opinion, the best way to learn is through experience!

I hope I can share stories and experiences with you and learn about the world!
