About Me

I am friendly and I try to be a good neighbor and citizen. I stop and notice nice things when I am on a walk. I like lying in the sun when it is warm. I like it when people are honest. I like making people laugh. I love animal and plant friends (even though I have a black thumb!). I'm a life-long learner! Forever curious and enjoy new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope the community will help me in my quest to see and feel (and all of the other senses) the world and better understand my place as a citizen of it by sharing their local insights with me!

My first ever couch surfing experience was spending a week in Toulon, France in 2007. My host was amazing, and I met a lot of other couchsurfers and people from all over the world. I made some lasting bonds and memories, and I can't wait to do it again.

I've had people stay with me quite a few years ago when I lived in a big house in Iowa City. I really enjoyed showing them around, and was glad I could give back by letting people stay with me. My current studio apartment is too small and messy for a sleepover guest, but I am up for meeting with travelers when I have the time! Just know that I don't go out as much as I used to, so I will probably show you the quieter side of my town ;)

I am not sure that I know anything specific that I could teach someone...
I am up for helping anyone improve their English!
A number of other random facts that I happen to know!

I would like to learn:
Tai Chi
Languages (currently learning Chinese)
How to change a bike tube/tire (any bike maintenance)
How to drive stick (any car maintenance)
Any plumbing, carpentry, roofing, home repair
How to surf!! It's a dream of mine!
How to not fall off a skateboard.
How to ride a horse.
How to sail
How to play the harp

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give you a tarot reading (I'm really good!) and/or perform reiki on you.

I can listen to your lung sounds and take your pulse. I can teach you how to take deep breaths.

We can sing songs, dance, make things out of clay, cook together, go hiking together, explore!
