About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being. Welcoming life, discovering and sharing.

ABOUT ME
I have now spent more than five years walking and hitchhiking in France (where I am born), Thailand, and Australia (the country I would, more than any other place, call home) . I am now discovering New Zealand, still on my two feet !
My travels and lifestyle are oriented towards self-sufficiency, outdoors, wildlife, permaculture, alternative education. Next year will be the start of my building my own sustainable home with my partner in Europe. We will then be travelling again, around Europe, with our mobile Library of Permaculture - once a bank of environmental knowledge open to all, and an experimentation workshop for ideas and practices that respect Life in all its forms.

My aims in coming to New Zealand are : to discover the stunning landscapes of this country via tramping, kayaking , rock-climbing... To visit Permaculture projects and Ecovillages; And maybe to settle for a few months where I will feel good.
I am not a "city" nor a "beach" person. I like to live among respectful people, in a quiet and sane environment. I am a non-smoker, don't drink alcohol. I can speak French and English.

PHILOSOPHY

I...believe in Life.
I have no religion and try to have no prejudice against people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing who I am, and giving a willing hand to houseminding if needed...I am also involved in Wwoofing and HelpXchange (http://www.helpx.net/profile.asp?usercode=628255JN), totally matching my own values : sharing, discovering and learning.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a host for five years, when living in Montpellier with my two roommates. As a guest, I've always been warmly welcome, and some of my hosts have become real friends for me.
When I will settle, I will definitely become a host again.

Interests

Life.
I am curious about everything, love learning and discovering.
Love new stories, music and languages, wildlife, self-sufficiency, drawing and painting, telling stories, drama... At the moment I am discovering yoga, so really interested if you have some to teach me !
My ideal daily schedule includes waking up and going to bed with the sun, being outside (I love outdoor sports like bushwalking, swimming, rock-climbing, kayaking...), .
I also enjoy laughing, have a real passion for "neo-trad"dancing - traditional dances from all over the world. I love cooking, looking at the stars, listening (yes, no mistake), and I LOVE reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly fantasy (please have me discovering one I haven't read !) and travel books, Bill Bryson, Murakami, but also Classics like Oscar Wilde, Jules Verne...
I also love to discover all sorts of strange, unusual movies, as well as almost all sorts of music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16, I contracted a serious disease, and was forced to go to the hospital for nearly one year. Doctors said I had very little chance to recover. At first I despaired, thought that Life was unfair, and let the disease win over me.
But during my hospitalization, I met such wonderful people. Models of courage, hope... love. They told me about the fabulous present given to each of us : Life...About their gratitude for every day, and their struggle against illness and despair.
At that very moment I realized that I had lived all these 16 years without even feeling this wonder, this miracle. My heart was beating. I could breathe, laugh, see the fantastic beauty of the world... And love.
Something changed for me these days, and forever.
By some unlikely chance, I discovered at that time what happiness was : living.

After one year, I totally recovered.
Since then I try to enjoy each day of my life, to make the most of this gift, to discover and share... Life is amazing.
