About Me

I am a 23 year old student studying mandarin and international relations. I have loved traveling since I first left home with my family when I was a kid. My mother is from the Netherlands, so I still have a lot of family there and travel to Europe as often as possible. I love to explore new cities, experiencing different local cultures and cuisines. I live just north of San Francisco across the golden gate bridge and grew up on the mountain doing tons of hiking and mountain biking. I grew up in a cooking household and therefore love to cook all different types of food, but leaning towards a combination of italian and different asian cuisines. I am a craft cocktail bartender, which has allowed me to make a living doing something that I love, combining flavors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet fun and interesting locals in the new places that I travel to who can give me an insider sense of the place that I am at, and to give that same experience back to people who come visit the San Francisco bay area.

Interests

I'm big on outdoors activities like biking, hiking, going to the beach. I love to learn about different cultures and ways of life. Food and cooking! The art of bartending and mixing drinks has become important in my life. I have worked in the craft cocktail scene for a few years and besides it being my livelihood I love mixing flavors and creating balance.
