Overview
About Me
More questions usually already arise from the generic incipit "Where are you from?"; I've grown up in different countries, bound in some fantastic and profound friendships along the way, but it's hard to say what I'd feel my homeport actually is... do I even have one? :)
My friends like to call me an open-minded, curious, sensitive, enthusiastic and attentive person, and although humility forbids I reuse those compliments myself, let's rather say that I'm always in for a game of "Why Not?".
On a perpetual journey for more of those high-"mind-blowing"-potential conversations, I feed on sharing good moments with other humans, exploring the different ways societies have bound their cultural history with their natural environment, discovering and embracing original ideas, learning something new.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The fellow CouchSurfing members I've had the honor to meet so far have all been incredibly welcoming, generous, passionate about life, inspirational and hence... unique and beautiful human beings. Since those traits sadly feature more and more rarely at first sight in a normalizing and conditioning society, staying active in this community provides a both stimulating and comforting sensation.
Interests
To pick some from the list above:
- Physics: I specialised in arctic geophysics but my education is broader and traverses theoretical physics as well as astrophysics; although it's become my professional activity, the topic certainly is one of my favorite hobbies as well!
- Music: baroque music (mostly the genre I play myself), modern and progressive jazz (sounds like I've listened to this my whole life? I haven't), Berlin underground techno (of course you know what I mean... Berghain/Sisyphos-style!), etc
- Sports: rock-climbing, touring-skiing, track-cycling, scuba-diving, ultimate-frisbee, as long as a sport has a "-" in its name, I'm interested!
- Cinema: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls002085146/
- Literature: faible for French galant literature, German Jugendstil and US-American Sci-Fi, writing poems in my free-time
- Politics: I only picked up on this past-time as a result of how many hours I weekly spent at some point watching political debates online... fundamental and intrinsic topic though, and I love talking about alternative models of societies
