About Me
ABOUT ME
I've moved around quite a bit these last 4 years. I was studying engineering in Melbourne when I decided to go traveling. Since late 2009 I've been spending most of my time between Australia and France, doing whatever jobs I can to fund my various projects. These include getting my pilot license, travelling over 30,000kms around Australia over two trips in two cars, going around Eastern Europe in Summer 2011 through Scandanavia the year after that as well as working on web development projects.
I have also driven from Canada to Argentina on a motorcycle (2014/15) and I am currently driving the same bike through Brazil, aiming to end my trip somewhere near French Guiana. Before arriving in Brazil I was working at BPM festival in Mexico in stage production.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is random, we are all just different colored dots moving around by chance. Sometimes those dots meet and a splash of color leaves and transfers to another, these clashes are what makes life worth living.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to have experiences that will depart from the hostel scene (which I also love). I want to be able to see the city through the eyes of a local.
Interests
I love travel obviously, and I love trading stories with other travellers. Aside from that, I'm a big fan of science and related subjects. I've recently picked up DJing as a hobby as well and I love going out whenever I travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - The Shank (The Shawshank Redemption), Capote,
Music - European techno is my true love, but when not raving I enjoy hip hop, folk and most music which isn't played on the radio.
Books - Anything by Hunter S Thompson, Jack Kerouac, and anything else travel or adventure related.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done lots of things I would consider memorable. A recent trip of mine took me to Bosnia. I'm not ashamed to say that my expectations were low when I arrived, but it was simply stunning. The people were extremely friendly, and it was absolutely beautiful.
I also jumped on to a boat in Turkey after they had taken the footbridge off and the boat had started to leave port. That was pretty cool.
I recently found myself in Antigua wondering around the streets looking for a dog in a T-shirt called "Sushi". This dog had a Japanese owner who was working at a jeweler where we wanted to buy some jade stones. The mission was successful! If you want any jade stones, let me know.
On my motorycle, one of the most memorable things I did was driving across the salt flats in Bolivia. We went over a pass at 5,500 meters and had to restart our bikes in the middle of a snowstorm.
