About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To dip my toes in every ocean.

ABOUT ME

If you really knew me you would know...

I will not be complete until I've dipped my toes in every ocean.

I will never be too old to play dress up or finger paint

There is no better feeling than the moment you hit the water

Waves can be the worlds greatest toy, but its undertow can be the worlds greatest enemy.

... same goes with tequila

Age is defined by what you feel, not how many candles.

A job is something that supports your life, not something that you live for, and if you are able to work and live at the same time you have hit the jackpot.

Everything looks better in Comic Sans.

My family does not need to be blood-related

In the end everything will be ok, so if its not ok, then its not the end

PHILOSOPHY

"There is more in us than we can know,
and if we can be made to see it,
perhaps, just perhaps,
we will never settle for anything less"

- Kurt Hahn

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing has showed me a whole new outlook on traveling, but not so much traveling as adventure-ing, that has influenced the way I take opportunities to share and dig deep around the world and in my own backyard.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met the warmest hearts, coolest perspectives, beautiful minds and hardest partyers while couchsurfing! A 5 star hotel bears no comparison to the value of surfing someones couch, and hosting has given me the ability to 'travel' from my own living room.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books- The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Catcher and the Rye. Beautiful and the Dammed- A Portrait of New India.
Music- Check out Sean Fournier, (www.sean-fournier.com) He released a free albumn recently that's really good, if you like Folk, Poppy Acoustic kind of music.
Cat Empire
Matt Corby
Dan Mangan
Patrick Watson
HEY OCEAN! - GREAT Canadian band.
Movies- One Week [2009] (A MUST SEE) If you are from, have every been to, or ever want to see Canada, you will fall in love with this movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most beautiful thing is a sunrise, not that it's any better than a sunset, but because it brings you to a place in the day where you would not normally be, an adventure wherever you are, just at the hour.

And I guess signing up for this site, kind of corny, ok really corny, but true. I was fairly young when I started couch surfing (18), and just having that push to grab life for all its worth at such a young age has really defined who I am today.

Teach, Learn, Share

Little known places that I've found around Bigger known Places...

Ottawa, Canada- The top floor of the Chateau Laurier. The best view of Ottawa by far is from the abandoned floor on the top of the Chateau Laurier. Unfortunately this gem has been boarded up since I originally posted this.

Paris, France- La point ephemere cafe, metro: jaures, by canal st.martin where it intersects with rue lafayette. A twisted grunge version of the traditional brasserie with its graffiti walls and blaring music. and absolutely killer canal-side patio.

Folly Beach, Charleston, South Carolina, US- A little island just outside Charleston, but probably one of the most magical places on earth. The funniest little town with the most chill people and the most magical beach you will ever see.

Montreal, Canada- La Boite Kareoke Bar, a total hole in the wall, but you are guaranteed to make the greatest memories, such a crazy mix of people.

Noorwijk, Netherlands- Just the town itself. If you want to see something more than Amsterdam when you are in the Netherlands, get out of Amsterdam.

The various 'cultural centers' in Cairo. Many of the districts of Cairo have a cultural center that is dedicated to promoting the arts. A lot of the information is available in English and there is a huge variety of events that happen, from pop to traditional music as well as art/photo exhibits or drama/dance presentations.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
