About Me
Left home with 19 to sing Frank Sinatra songs in Sydney. Then travelled on a bike for 6 months. Fell in love with France and its people and made La Rochelle my seasonal home for the summers in between my lengthy bike-adventures.
My travels have always been marked by wonderful encounters on the road, with Couchsurfing and also WarmShowers. I have been part of the CS community before 2010 and have made wonderful friends thanks to that.
In my time off I enjoy repairing bikes, phones and other electronics, cooking and a good round of Mario Kart.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I stumbled across the concept of couchsurfing at the age of 15 and waited another three years before receiving my first guest in my Sydney home in 2009.
In the beginning I only used the platform to give people shelter, but discovered quickly that it was so much more than that. For me it was also those CS events, that helped me make great memories along my travels and the moments of hospitality received when on the road myself.
Here are some of my highlights:
- CS meetings in the evening in Hyde Park (Sydney) sharing food, music and playing frisbee
- being shown the magic of Chatroulette
- having a CS make me the most beautiful paper-maché Nemo-fish EVER!
- CSing with my Dad in Australia!!! And I won't forget that moment when he tried to speak English. Pure magic!
- Having a giant German-CS-Christmas party at my house
- staying and cooking with gay nudists
- preparing dinner in a squatted house
- receiving a travel-pillow (made of buckwheat-hulls!!) from a healing lady
- learning how to dance Salsa and make Belgian Truffels in Brussels
