ABOUT ME

So many to tell, just don't know what to start with :P
But to be short, most of my friends may say I am:
- A world traveler; Adventurer.
- A man of stories; An interesting person to know;
- Friendly, communicative, easy-going;

I was born and grew up in Guangzhou, China, and I have been actively involved in international exchanges activities since collage, which brought to me friends from over 40 countries. But due to my humble family background, I was able to travel abroad until I was 22...yea, I did have a hard time, but my dream and struggle enabled me to have amazing life experiences:

- My first international travel was to the USA, in 2008. I was chosen as 1 of the 20 students visiting scholar by the US Department of State.
- The second time I traveled abroad was also to the USA. It was 3 years later, in 2011. I went to NYC to attend my cousin's wedding, then I traveled to a number of cities in the US such as Boston, DC, San Francisco.
- Since then I began a crazy traveling life - mainly between China and Brazil. I went to Brazil for 8 times, studying, doing business and almost traveling the whole country.
- I am traveling even more since I quit my job and started my own business in 2015. So far, I have traveled to 20 countries in all continents.

I'm an open-minded, easy-going and frank person. I value a lot my traveling experience, my friends around the world and all what I have been given that make me today. I love to make friends, and I would love to share and exchange the best moments of life with my friends.

PROJECT - "STORY TELLER"

As I have so many crazy experiences in my life, my friends even ask me to write a book. Then I came up with an idea to be a story teller ---- I always try to exchange life stories with friends, and I marked them down. Then as years roll, I collect amazing stories from amazing people around the world.
So would share your stories in exchange of mine? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always prefer to stay in places where I can meet people: hostels, couchsurfing, home staying, etc. instead of staying alone in fancy hotels. It's not able money, but about the chance to get in touch and make friends with new people. It's also the best way to collect people's stories --- with which I could fulfill my "story teller" project. :P

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had much home-stay experience, on for couchsurfing, only once, in DC, 2011. Whereas, it was such a great experience that I would never forget in my life. The host became a good friend of mine and we are still in touch after years. I have told this experience to thousands of people, because it was just so great --- would you like to know? I guarantee you will not regret to listen!

Interests

Traveling- Traveling is not only my interest but has become a part of my life. I take airplane over 60 times per year.
Music-I love music, without music I'd rather die. I especially love New Age and Bossa Nova style;
Language study-I like to study different languages, because I believe language opens a door to a broader world;
Graphic design-I like Art. I used to work as a freelance graphic designer though I haven't had formal education in Art;
Making new friends-I have only been abroad once but I have friends over 50 countries in the world. I hosted a lot of foreigners at my home and I enjoy such experience;

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Being a local tour guide in Guangzhou, giving in-depth tours to friends around the world, including the diplomats from 10+ countries. (which made me on the newspaper)
- Traveling in the USA. Being a student visiting scholar to travel was cool, but a better one is the travel in San Francisco, where my taxi driver friend who I met on street showed me around the city by his car.
- Taking a boat cruising upstream the Amazon river for 2 days, after which I took a moto-taxi alone with 4 luggages in the middle of the jungle for 2 hours, at midnight.
- Traveling in Switzerland, as a guest of the former Swiss CG of Guangzhou. Amazing landscape and even more amazing stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd listen to people's stories and share mine.
I could introduce China the Chinese culture and business in a certain depth;
I'd like to become a host if I have chance;
