ABOUT ME

Free spirited, sincere, independent, genuine, very direct - and yet a much kinder communicator of my opinion than I was in my 20s. I love to share and listen and be there for friends. And sometimes, little or no talking is good.

I like the idea of having different lives and exploring different sides of my personality: I can be extravagant, loud and bold but I also love/need to be quiet and recharge batteries - introvert style. I can be a very professional business person but I also like to be a traveling bohemian. I have been a teacher, a fundraiser, a project manager, a construction worker, a hiking guide, an event planner, I washed dishes, I worked on a barge, I was a sailor for two months on a 35ft boat, a through hiker on the continental divide in Colorado...It's all fun.

PHILOSOPHY

"We are all on a journey and we never get to end it." You only have one life and no one can live it for you. Be brave, acknowledge obstacles and push beyond the obvious and the easy route and you'll be rewarded with wonders and the feeling that you can take on anything you put your mind to.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My participation has been intermittent over the years, surfin' and hostin', I like it all and really really love all my experiences to far and want to keep making the time to host from time to time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experiences have all been quite phenomenal. I am happy with simple and the simplicity of someone opening their home to me or giving me an opportunity to treat them to a good bed, just hits the spot for me. It touches me and inspires me deeply and I always talk up couchsurfing to friends.

Interessen

Photography, cinema, board games, dance (all kinds and any kind, I can never get enough), hiking, camping, climbing (I rarely climb but when I do I always have such a blast), sailing, traveling, writing, self discovery.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I have such a great memory of sailing at night when the others were asleep and I was in charge of the boat. The phosphorescent water, the wind, the noises from the boat, the perfectly fitting music in my ipod at times. It's a moment when everything fits, when you are perfectly in the present, when your senses are awake, your body strong, and your soul is full and bright and you just smile and laugh and enjoy.
