About Me
Hiya!
I'm Juliet, hailing from the picturesque South Coast of NSW, Australia, where I've spent most of my life. After a year of post-high school work, I embarked on a journey to explore the world—a dream I've harbored since childhood. I work at a Steiner Primary School with children aged from 5-12, specialising in behavioural and learning support. I love children, adore their energy and am passionate about nurturing their individual needs and interests. Soon, I'll be diving into the realm of psychology which I will study at University next year, with a focus on special needs and child psychology—a path I'm eager to tread as I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Something that brings me great joy is meeting and connecting to people. I love to hear peoples stories and learn from their life experiences. I think by sharing and connecting, our world is more harmonious and wholesome! As much as I am loving travelling, I am struggling with the cost of accommodation in Europe, which makes travelling a little stressful. I also find that staying in hostels and hotels can be very touristy and isolated. I would love to experience a more authentic way of life!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love many types of music but am very influenced by the nostalgia of my parents music. Eg. Single Gun Theory, Erykah Badu, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Caroline Polacheck (my favourite), Steely Dan, Rnb, 70s and 80s music, and then lots of little (mostly Australian) artists
My favourite movies include Amélie, About Time, Notting Hill, Pulp Fiction, Wes Anderson, Metropolis and many more!
My love for books is never ending! Some of my favourites are Wuthering Heights, Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, The Daggerspell series and Yellowface.
I am eager to expand my book, music and movie diet!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am passionate about social and environmental causes, igniting a passion that led me to establish a youth organisation at the age of 19. Through this initiative, I aimed to empower young people to reconnect with their local communities, addressing environmental and social challenges that profoundly impact their lives and well-being. I believe in the transformative power of community engagement, not only for the causes we champion but also for nurturing mental health. It was quite successful and we ended up getting invited to the NSW state parliament to speak about our organisation and its mission!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a curious soul and always searching for new ideas and opinions! I would love to learn how to improve my cooking, languages, life ethos and anything else that I can. As mentioned before I am hoping to expand my knowledge age of books, movies and music. Also I love history and would love to learn more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a great knowledge of life and politics in Australia which I can share with you. I am musician who can learn and play songs for you, as well as the ones I already know. I love helping so can assist with odd jobs as well as cooking and cleaning. If you have kids I can entertain them and know lots of activities for younger children.
