About Me

I like travelling, I like meeting new people, I like learning about the world, different ways of seeing life, of living, of having fun, different philosophies. I like languages, I love learning new languages or phrases and being able to communicate and to be able to grasp some other's culture or way of thinking is fascinating. I always kind of look the world from a different perspective (or try to do so, at least), sometimes a bit more complicated, but always trying to be true to my own self. And positive, adamantly postive. Sometimes we tend to follow what others or what the system tells us we have to do, I try not to. There are other ways of living, of doing things, nobody has THE answer, but you can learn from everybody and everybody may learn from you. I'm fun and friendly, not a complainer, sweet but stubborn and self-sufficient. It's difficult to describe yourself just in words, but I'm happy with myself and I'm happy to see people happy (specially people I like, of course). So I try to do both, things that make me happy and things that will make others happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started to think that getting a picture with the famous monument of the city I'm visiting doesn't fill me anymore. Landscapes are beautiful, but I discovered (by chance, I must say) that what I really enjoy is learning about some place's culture. And people are a key part of it. Also, it's not the same to go out by your own than to hang out with friends, to see what they see everyday or to meet a place loaded with some of their memories. Staying at somebody's place makes this possible. It is a way of relating with people in a different way. Opening your house to someone unknown or staying at the place of somebody you've never met before is a leap of faith and we need more of this in our present day.

Interests

I'd say I like reading, but actually I don't read that much lately. What I do love is watching movies. Independent films and recommended (by friends). I play percussion, I like music, but never know which song/artist I'm lisening to. I do love dancing (specially salsa). I'm learning to enjoy leisure time, specially if I'm with friends. I love drinking "mate" and chat laying on the grass in Summer and swimming. I also like to go out and have a beer (I started enoying beer not that long ago and now I love to go out for a beer with a friend. But I only eally like blak beer...) I'm a practical person, good at solving things and staying positive. Cooking is something I really enjoy, and even more if I'm cooking for someone. Riding bike, walking, meeting new places or learning new things are activities I enjoy too. I'm also part of a social organization and I like to go against the tide and smile at people and be as kind as I can be with others. You never know when you are the one that will need it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like independent films. I don't like action or horror movies... I read a lot more in Spanish, I like Magic Realism and Realism. I used to be a big fan of Harru Potter... Music? It's difficult to specify what kind of music I like (please don't ask me, it makes me self-confident). I like dancing, so I like music I can dance to (salsa, I'd dance salsa all day long). I like song writers, I like to hear stories when I listen to music. Ismael Serrano, El Kanka, I like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many =) I travelled on my own last year for the first time and it was an awsome experience. I've started teaching and I find I like it. I fulfilled a lot of dreams and had the opportunity of doing things I haven't even dreamt of. Some of them may not sound that interesting, but they are interesting to me. I've done many different things in my life and I'm proud of it. I'm always open to new experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching travelers how to drink mate and Spanish to non-Spanish speakers. Also, I like to learn new languages or phrases, it's fun. I learn form others different ways of doing things and seeing the life, that moulds my own and makes me open minded. I'd share a walk, a talk, or anything some other need/want.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experiences of life, my ears to hear, stories about my country and my place. I can share, maybe, some Argentinean recipies (empanadas, tartas). I'm always ready to share "mate" (I love getting people to try mate for their first time). I can share my positiveness, and I'm always ready to share a walk and a chat with someone who'd enjoy it. I also can share my ears because I love to listen. I like that people like hearing me, too, but I'm a good listener.
