About Me
Hi,
My name is Juliette, I'm French, and I started traveling on my own at 20. Started in Southern and Eastern Africa, then flew to the Middle East, then I headed back to France without flying to take a break.
I am now starting a new chapter on the road: Central Asia while studying remotely.
This means I have to be connected at least twice a week to keep up with my studies, but I am flexible.
The reason for not flying is I really really want to limit my environmental impact, and despite it being very long, I find it more interesting.
I like to discover a country through its people, so I usually read about it AFTER to avoid bias. For this matter, I always give time and tolerance to different opinions than mine. I think it is something much harder to do than people really want to admit, but I am convinced than one learns more by listening than fighting an idea, because the truth is plural and needs to be found together, not against each other.
Hence, my traveling: I want to challenge my beliefs and what I've been taught by creating dialogue or even just by immersing myself in a different life.
Back in France I'm a student very curious about everything but can't stop moving so I travel on a budget with my friends and I do all sorts of activities like organizing a music festival ! I love theater, music (I want to discover new genres), food (a lot, cooking and eating), handcrafts... coffee with a view is what brings me joy the most (and chocolate, that I really miss now).
I travel to meet people with different ways of life and different visions of the world, to educate myself and discover another culture through local eyes!
I love Couchsurfing for bringing together respectful and adventurous human beings, who I always love spending time with, even when there's a language barrier :))
