About Me

I used to say that I was a dreamer because I spent so much time daydreaming instead of living. I dreamt about places I'd go to, about the girl I'd be in a couple of years, about how my apartment would look like, about the books I'd write. I had this whole life in my head because I was too scared to live it on my own.
Now, I usually say I'm an explorer, because I explore the world through films, books, art, and travels. I want to discover the world. I want to be astonished and amazed. I want to meet people from all over the world and speak other langages. I want to do crazy things without thinking about it twice. I want to do something i’m passionate about. I want my life to be full of laughters, and tears, and minutes that feel like forever, and long nights looking at the stars with someone special, and moments that taste like infinite.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to travel because you meet people you would have never met in another way and you learn more about life, ways of thinking, the place you're visiting. This is amazing.

Interests

As a literature student, needless to say that I love literature and books. I love to write stories, I'm fascinated by the power of words (words can make you cry, make you laugh, words can make you believe). I also love to write letters to people, to send postcards with lot of stamps on the envelope. I'm a creative person, even though I have absolutely no talent for drawing. I'm really interested in art, street art and photography. I'm not into religion, but I love mythology, I find it so interesting, I can't really say why. More than anything, I like spontaneous things and doing things on a whim (like booking a flight just because it's cheap and I want some adventures). I like things that are a bit odd and special - outside of the box.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read so much it's hard to pick a favorite book. But I'd definitely say Baricco's book : Ocean Sea. It's a book so hard to sum up, a really strange book, but so poetic. Baricco has a unique writing. I'm also a huge admirer of the Beat Generation. I read a lot of Kerouac's and I read Ginsberg's Howl too. I think there's something great in the way he writes, so spontaneously, and I'm really into the whole thing about the road and everything (I'm actually writing my thesis on the road novel). That's the kind of things that make me dream. And, of course, Harry Potter - books and first movies - which has pretty much built my childhood.

I listen to a lot of folk and rock, with artists such as Neil Young, The Doors, Bob Dylan, Angus & Julia Stone, Mumford & Sons. Recently I saw Wild Child in Boston and it was really amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left everything I had, everything I knew, behind to come to the US to live in a family I've never met before. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and start explore the world rather than dreaming about it.
