About Me

Hi there! I'm Julie. Originally from Vermont, but I've been living in Los Angeles for two and a half years and absolutely love it. I love live music, traveling, food (so much food), cute animals, adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to learn about a new place is from the people who live there! I love exploring and learning about the history and culture from unique perspectives. Anyone can look up "must-see" spots on Trip Advisor and read reviews from other tourists, but I'd much rather hear from people who love their city and are passionate about sharing it with visitors eager to learn, explore and soak it all in.

Interests

Most of my time is spent at concerts, eating food and finding fun activities to do around the city...Craft fair? Sure! New museum exhibit! I'll be there. Beach day? Let's go! Dance party? Always down.

What I want to spend more time doing is traveling. I've done a bit so far, but not nearly enough! My grandpa is my biggest inspiration - he's been traveling the globe for 50 years and has been more places than I can count, but some day I hope to say the same for myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes range far and wide: from the oldies and classic rock, to punk rock, indie, RandB, pop, a little bit of jazz. I'm always up for checking out new tunes. A sampling of all time favorites: the Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nick Waterhouse, New Found Glory, Phantogram, Paramore, Leon Bridges - the list goes on.

I love movies! Some favorites: Die Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Ghostbusters, Pan's Labyrinth, etc. My all-time favorite TV show is Parks and Recreation.

As far as books go, I love cheesy, classic sci fi novels - my favorite author is Ray Bradbury and I'm also a huge Neil Gaiman fan. I've also read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories and love revisiting them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in Birthright Israel when I was 19 and it was incredible.
