About Me

CURRENT MISSION

trying to play the music that's within me

ABOUT ME

I used to live and work in Paris and recently chose to move to Vancouver. I love this region of the world, love Vancouver Island, Salt Spring ISland and probably many other places in BC and the PNW I haven't had a chance to discover yet. I see the PNW has a beautiful and magical playground and I want to keep exploring it. I moved to Vancouver for its lifestyle, its love of the outdoor, it's sensibility to Environment sustainability. People are smart and progressive here and things make sense. The quality of life is quite impressive and the possibilities are endless.
Now, what would my friends say to qualify me ?
Here is my assumption about what their answer could be :
open-minded, always ready for new experiences, determined, independent, likes to laugh : certainly
unconventional, good at cooking from scratch, travel junky, supportive, sarcastic : probably
creative, unexpectedly careless at times, taking great pictures, courageous, doesn't always honor her name (sage), likes to gather her friends : possibly

My plans ? getting a permanent status in Canada, Getting better at yoga and photography, writing a book for kids, a useful one, and of course, enjoying every day and exploring as much as I can !

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything is energy and that's all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."

"There is no passion to be found playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you're capable of living"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Planning to host on my couch in Vancouver as soon as visits from family and friends from France are over

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been blessed ! So much generosity and simplicity, BRAVO !

Interests

I enjoy learning and exchanging thoughts with others, being confronted to other cultures and mindsets and being able to discuss them. learning about yourself, learning from others, teaching or explaining to others (when I can), having new horizons unveiled and having this exhilarating feeling of moving on and going forth.

I love yoga, the challenge, the philosophy and the feelings around it. The more I practice, the more I want to know more about it and get better at it. Vinyasa power flow and ashtanga are my favorite.
I'm also very interested in the Taoist philosophy and would like to master it better in my daily life.
I like cooking, not so much for the technical aspect of it but more for the idea of creating something you can share with others afterwards, which is probably a very french idea of conviviality. I also like cooking from scratch, I find it challenging.

Last but not least, Photography ! It is definitely a passion ! I enjoy it anyways and recently started taking pictures again. I have themes in my head, my favorite one is called ‘finding beauty in the neglected’. I went to Patagonia for photography and try to integrate it more systematically in my everyday life now. My favorite photographers are probably William Eggleston, Fred Herzog and Richard Avedon.

Music, Movies, and Books

"without music, life would be a mistake"
I listen to different kinds of music and I love discovering new things, always !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Smashing a hot dog full of relish on an asshole's white shirt, after he had insulted one of my friends in front of a bar one summer night in Burlington, Vermont.
It was a sheer, joyful feeling, but only because he really deserved it !

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been teaching french to my american roommate in Paris for the last 6 months,
I like to learn about new recipes and I like to show what my favorite recipes are
learn about different cultures and be confronted to different mindsets
explain plant biology facts that we may bump into in our everyday lives (nothing creepy here).
