About Me

Hello! I'm Juline from California. I grew up near Chicago, but I've been living in the Bay over 4 years (Chicago is WAY too cold for me!)

This past February, I bought a one-way ticket to Thailand and I've been traveling ever since! I've hit most of Southeast Asia, India, and I'm currently making my way through Europe before heading back to the States for Christmas.

I can't wait to get home and start hosting guests of my own! It seems like a great way to continue to interact with the amazing people of the traveling community when I can't travel myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I quickly learned that the best part of travel is the people you meet. Travelers transcend nationalism, and we're a community of our own. They're the most open, interesting, kindest people, and I've met friends who will last a life time in just a few short days.

Surfing is the best way to really see a place from a local perspective, and hosting is the best way to stay in the traveling community while you're stuck at home!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I can listen to most music if it's on. I don't enjoy country or heavy metal typically. My go-to's are Odesza, Pretty Lights, Florence and the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bassnectar.... I'm all over the place really.

Movies: Dramas! And anything with outer space.

Books: There is no rhyme or reason to what I read. I just finished Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (a philosophy book), and I'm currently reading the Cashflow Quadrant (a financial/investment book).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I completed a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat in India. Challenging, but rewarding! I also ate a tarantula in Cambodia; that was not rewarding, just gross.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm super friendly and easy-going! I'm open and adaptable. I'm just as comfortable going to the club with 20 strangers as I am watching a movie at home with tea or exploring a new city by myself. I'm happy to spend time or give space.

I also really love to cook, and I'd be happy to prepare us a breakfast/lunch/dinner of your choice!

Countries I’ve Visited
