About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel around the world ! ! !

ABOUT ME

Hello! We are Julio and Emilia, a couple from Argentina traveling around the world. We are using CS because we like to get a local perspective of the places we visit.

Check out Emilia's profile, she is travelling with me:

PHILOSOPHY

Sabatical time is an ancient tradition. It comes from Hebrew culture: after a long period of harvest, they used to let the land rest for a while, in order to improve it. We are looking for that! We are taking a time off from our jobs to travel around the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted some times and met great people!

A funny experiencie: while surfing in Tokyo, helped my hoster to replace his couch for another left outside in the rain!

Interests

Photography, travel (of course), music and movies. Oh, and beer, particularly if it comes with a conversation in a bar

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of Lewis Caroll: "So, either I've been dreaming about her, and this is the reality. Or else, I've been really with her, and this is a dream! It's life itself a dream, I wonder?"

I enjoy reading Latin American literature such as Jorge Amado, Julio Cortazar, JL. Borges and Bioy Casares. Also like Saramago and khaled Hosseini.

Music: pretty much everything, it depends of the moment.

Movies: Back to future (all of them), Forest Gump, Into the wild, Everything is illuminated

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Macchu Pichu in Peru
Watching the sun rise at Angkor Wat (Cambodia)
Bathing elephant in Luang Prabang (Lao)
Getting down from the Great Wall in China using a toboggan
Snorkeling in Blue Lagoon in Ilha Grande, Brazil!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook some local argentinean food! (or at least I can try). Also I can give some tips about taking photos.

Eager to learn about different cultures: food, music, movies, places, history. PS: "food" includdes drinks
