About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Taking four months off to travel South East Asia. Meeting old friends again and making new ones. Having time to reflect about life and share my ideas with the people on my way.

ABOUT ME

I am a very communicative person, I love to get to know other people and hear their stories. I love to share my thoughts with others and get inspiration out of it. I always find it amazing to see that people can be truely connected although they might not have a lot in common at first sight.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Back in Europe I stayed with Couchsurfers in Rotterdam, Copenhague and Groningen or sometimes just met up with Couchsurfers for exploring their or my city together. I also used Couchsurfing a lot for meeting up with people in Hamburg and for finding out about any events.
Now on our South East Asia trip it is the first time for me to do a lot of Couchsurfing in a row. It is a very nice experience to see a new place through the eyes of someone living there and I already had a lot of good luck with the hosts. When I will be back in Germany I definitely want to give some of this back to future guests of mine.

Interests

Foreign languages, travelling, arts, literature, theatre, music (Klezmer, Balfolk, Swing), dancing (I am absolutely addicted to BalFolk and Lindy Hop), nature, spending time with friends and meeting new people, talking, sharing ideas, laughing together

Music, Movies, and Books

There are such a lot of good movies and so many more that I probably still haven´t seen! Some movies I really liked were L´Auberge Espagnole, Black Cat White Cat, Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken, Comedian Harmonists, Der Pianist, Sommer vorm Balkon, Paul & Paula, the movies from Almodóvar, Kusturica and Fatih Akin,...

I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, mostly I love Klezmer and Jiddish music but also a lot of Catalan and Spanish bands. I love to get some nice songs as a kind of souvenir from the places I´ve been to.

Also, I am absolutely dance addicted and love to listen and dance to Balfolk music as well as to Swing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The three years I spent teaching, living and travelling in Vietnam and South East Asia were probably the most important time of my life. I learned at least one thing each single day and it turned my whole perception of life, people and myself around and around, helping me to find out who I am and what I want.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the most important things I learned in the recent months is the importance of trusting that everything will be good at the end and that there is no need to try to control anything because things will take their time to happen anyways, no matter how much we want them or want to change them. If we do each little step well, then the long way will be a good way as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can tell you some funny stories - or listen to yours and I can sing and dance with you :-)
