Overview
About Me
I was born in Kiev, Ukraine (USSR at the time) and immigrated with my family to the Bronx when I was a kid. I grew up in NY, but moved to Washington, and somehow found my way to law school. In between that, I've gotten to travel to Japan, London, Istanbul, Berlin, Peru, and plenty of cities in the US!
Currently, I'm a third year law student at the University of Washington in Seattle, hoping to practice corporate criminal prosecution. Right now I'm living in NYC where I'm interning at the Department of Justice, investigating white collar criminals and corporate conspiracies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is about expanding your community, and no trip is complete without coming away with a sense of belonging. I'm hoping that Couchsurfing will foster that feeling.
Interests
When I'm not studying or working, I love to paint (with coffee - ask me for pictures!), read sci-fi, crime fiction, or anything by David Sedaris, and watch more Netflix than I probably should. I love to talk about law, math, science, astronomy, art, photography (I was a professional photographer for a number of years) and TV. I'm also really into urban exploring and taking photographs of abandoned buildings. There's something serene and intriguing about them.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: MASHUPS! I think everything in life is a remix, and it feels fitting to have my music reflect that.
Movies: Pi, My Neighbor Totoro, Mulan, Proof, Miss Representation, and of course many others.
Books: The Little Prince, Godel, Escher & Bach, Blankets, The Shadow of the Wind, and so many others. Those are the ones that come to mind first.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've explored an abandoned Nazi sanatarium (later overtaken by the Soviets) and a military training camp where Inglorious Basterds was filmed, in Berlin. So that's pretty cool, I suppose.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories and ideas - but I expect those two things in return, too!
I am also a very considerate guest! I am grateful for a place to stay, and will be neat, quiet, and respectful.
